Is this a good introduction for a college application essay?

When writing the perfect college application essay, many schools often ask you to comprise two thousand words or so on what makes you an exemplary individual- what your values are, how your beliefs differentiate you from the crowd, what makes you you. And oftentimes, the responses are quite similar: one’s devotion to religion, another’s athletic talent, and phenomenal academic achievement tend to be the general topics. However, the writers of the Common Application who come up with such essay prompts fail to recognize something: a potential student may not have any qualities that he or she feels are really unique. They may believe that what they carry with them- an item that is constantly by their side, something that is vital to their everyday function- is the defining factor of their character. Therefore, I have no trouble saying what I’ve been ashamed to say for years: what makes me who I am is an item of incredible simplicity- a guitar pick.
